DISNEY'S CLASSIC "SLEEPING BEAUTY" HAS BEEN GIVEN NEW LIFE WITH THE RECENTLY RELEASED LIVE-ACTION VERSION WITH ANGELINA JOLIE PERFECTLY AND BRILLIANTLY CAST AS ONE OF DISNEY'S MOST EVIL VILLANS, MALEFICENT. FEW WILL EVER FORGET THE CINEMATIC ANIMATION BRILLIANCE OF HORROR WHEN MALEFICENT TRANSFORMS HERSELF INTO THAT ATOMIC BOMB CREATED FIRE BREATHING DRAGON!

THIS PRODUCTION DRAWING PERFECTLY CAPTURES THE INCARNATE EVIL OF THAT YELLOW AND GREEN SNAPPING DEMON. IT IS TRULY AMAZING TO THINK THAT IN 1959 "SLEEPING BEAUTY" WAS A CRITICAL AND BOX OFFICE DISAPPOINTMENT. WARNER BROTHERS ANIMATOR CHUCK JONES SPENT FOUR MONTHS WORKING ON "SLEEPING BEAUTY".

HOWEVER WOLFGANG REITHERMAN WAS ANIMATING DIRECTOR FOR MALEFICENT AS THE DRAGON. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 16 FIELD PENCIL PRODUCTION DRAWING OF MALEFICENT AS THE DRAGON FROM DISNEY'S CLASSIC ANIMATED FULL LENGTH FEATURE FILM "SLEEPING BEAUTY". THESE DRAWINGS WERE DONE BY THE STUDIO BEFORE THEY WERE TRANSFERRED AND PAINTED ON TO CELS. IT WAS HAND RENDERED IN GRAPHITE ON DRAWING PAPER.

IT HAS "D-19" WRITTEN IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER WITH "#23FOLS" BENEATH THAT. AS WAS DONE AT THE TIME, THESE DRAWINGS HAD PUNCH HOLES ACROSS THE BOTTOM.

THE LARGE IMAGE MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 8.25" X 11". THERE IS SLIGHT EDGE WEAR WITH TINY TEARS ALONG THE TOP EDGE, OTHERWISE IN FINE CONDITION.
