PERFECT CONDITION WALT DISNEY "FANTASIA" GOLDFISH POTTERY BOWL # 121 BY VERNON KILNS MADE IN 1940. A HARD TO FIND DISNEY COMMISSIONED "FANTASIA" VERNON KILNS GLAZED PORCELAIN GOLDFISH BOWL IN A LIGHT PINK COLOR. THIS WAS INSPIRED BY THE "ARABIAN DANCE" SECTION OF TCHAIKOVSKY'S "NUTCRACKER SUITE", AND THE BEAUTIFUL GOLDFISH ARE IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZABLE! VERNON KILNS WAS ONE OF WHAT IS CALLED THE "BIG FIVE" CALIFORNIA POTTERY COMPANIES. THEY HAD A LICENSE FROM DISNEY TO PRODUCE FIGURINES FROM "FANTASIA", "DUMBO", AND "THE RELUCTANT DRAGON", AND ART WARE FROM "FANTASIA" FROM 1940 - 41.

THIS IS ONE OF THOSE "ART WARE" PIECES. THE GLAZED POTTERY GOLDFISH BOWL MEASURES 6 X 6.

A BEAUTIFUL AND WHIMSICAL AND RARE PIECE OF "FANTASIA" DISNEY COLLECTIBLE! Walt Disney authorized Vernon Kilns to make a series of figurines, pottery and dishes as higher end housewares to promote the movie Fantasia in 1940. Now considered a masterpiece, Fantasia was originally a flop in the theatres and the Vernon Kiln pieces were only made for one year. While the figurines are better known, the dishes and pottery are much rarer. As can be seen in the pictures the vase is in amazing condition for its age, with absolutely no wear and no damage. The vase measures 8" side to side and 6" tall.
