Merrie Melodies Rare Large Early 1930s Standee Bugs Bunny Elmer Fudd

  

This is a fantastic survivor from the early period of Warner Brothers cartoons or animated shorts. It's a fabulous, full color cardboard standee, designed to entice patrons to come into the theatre to view the latest Merrie Melodies cartoon. As with its sister series (Looney Tunes), Merrie Melodies featured cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd.

Standee states that a Vitaphone short subject is showing. Very large - Measures 29 x 49. Dating from the early 1930s, this wonderful promotional item is surely the only known example.

The standee offers incredible graphics of classic cartoon characters. Unfortunately, time and storage have had a toll with extensive moisture staining and surface loss.

This important early animation display deserves preservation. Expert restoration would bring this beauty back to life.
