This is an original 22" x 28" half sheet display poster for the 1954 classic, Walt Disney's first major attempt to do a live action wide-screen Cinemascope adventure epic. The film, based on the novel by French science-fiction fantasist Jules Verne, follows the adventure of a rugged seaman, Kirk Douglas, and his crew to find the cause of several oceanic disaster and the reported sighting of a sea monster. The mystery is solved when they encounter the mysterious and megalomaniacal Captain Nemo, James Mason, and his unimaginable submarine, the Nautilus.

The film was so popular when first released, it became the inspiration for a delightful ride at Disneyland in Southern California. Condition of the poster is fine, rolled as originally sent out to movie theatres. There is a little wear primarily in the borders including a tape remnant on the bottom center. The poster is on a nice glossy stock that was commonly used by Disney for their posters at the time.
