This is a hippidy dippidy lobby card if there ever was one! "One" is the word, as this is the single ONE (1) and ONLY original known to exist. Who doesn't know Donald Duck as a character? Well, maybe someone wearing diapers, but they will - and soon, as being alive in the civilized world carries with it particular certainties, and seeing Donald Duck is one of them. That's one of the factors that make this exotic rarity a must have for any Duck aficionado.

All seriousness aside, Donald Duck became Walt Disney's #1 cartoon movie character shortly after his introduction in 1934, surpassing even the "king of comedy, " that small but lovable rodent: Mickey Mouse. America dethroned "the king" practically overnight, instantly embracing Disney's new unfouled fowl, most probably because of the fact that Duck makes for a much better meal. There are few lobby cards of any type known to exist on Donald Duck. Other than this card, I've seen only a few 1940's scene cards on the second rate war-time features. This title card - which is clearly advertising the shorts - is by far and away the #1 lobby card representing our fine feathered friend, and so get ready to buck up, because this may be a bumpy ride.

I mean, where else are you going to find a bare-assed bird of this quality? This card has been in my collection for some time now. I think Ronald Reagan was still president when I got it...

Gorbachev tear down this wall. It came from a retired projectionist who saved about a dozen 1930's lobby cards including the title card on The Bride of Frankenstein and a scene card on Duck Soup (with the 4 Marx Brothers). That's one of the reasons I surmised that this card is from the 1930's. I suppose it's possible it's from the 1940's but I'd say it's unlikely given the quality of the image and the thickness of the card. This was printed on thick stock.

In fact, it was cracked when I got it and so I had it restored. It's been backed with a near transparent acid-free archival mulberry tissue. If you're a condition fanatic - FORGET IT!

This has had restoration, and so you won't be happy. I've posted a DIRECT HIGH RESOLUTION SCAN OF THIS CARD. If you have any questions please write. It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock - Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won't inspire anyone! The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society.

Please write with any questions. If you're in the market for top quality original vintage movie posters or Star Wars, then please.
